Activities Manager
at Ocean Elements in Vassilliki (Greece)
Reporting to:
Operations Manager
Summary of position:
To ensure that all activity departments (children’s clubs, bikes, beach) run an effective and budget focused program. To ensure that all activities are delivered in accordance with governing body guidelines, and as such ensure that all external inspections are a success.
Duties and Responsibilities: (this list is not exhaustive)
- Overseeing, guiding and developing the skills of the Beach Supervisor
- Overseeing, guiding and developing the skills of the Bike Guide
- Overseeing, guiding and developing the skills of the Children’s Club Leaders
- Motivating all beach staff to deliver high standards and enjoy their work
- Responsible for ensuring all departments have the resources they require
- Ensure all departments are completing necessary maintenance checks and preventative maintenance tasks
- Ensure all departments are completing and keeping accurate maintenance records
- Ensure all H&S audits are complete and act on these as necessary
- Upselling ‘extras’ in resort
- Oversee staff inductions and training
- Check all accident forms and act on information as necessary
- Be responsible for providing exceptional safety standards for all activities
- Teaching a variety of sessions when required
- Check and update all Risk Assessments every 2 months
- Update The Activities Operating Procedures manual, prior to, and during the season
- Socialising with guests to obtain their feedback on the product
- Be proactive in implementing new initiatives to develop the product for the better
- Complete petty cash accounts weekly
- Understand the budget and work to minimise costs and maximise revenue
- Analysis feedback form results and share findings with staff
- Implement actions to aid the achievement of all targets detailed in your budget criteria
- Set goals for all activities staff, in order aid the achievement of all targets
- Assist with day to day tasks of all activity departments, as and when needed
- Liaise with the management team to ensure the overall product is successful
- Process essential orders and keep accurate records of orders
- Process and follow up boat license documentation
- Understand and adhere to all local laws regarding watersports, in particular Port Police regulations
Experience / Qualifications required:
Minimum 3 seasons experience working in an activity center including , biking, watersports and children’s activities. Preferably in a supervisory role. RYA Senior Instructor and multi-disciplined instructor.
